Website Terms of Use
1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of the My HS Journey website, information, downloads and resources.
The website is operated by Lashaan Wray, referred to in these terms as “we”, “us” or “our”.
By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.
2. Informational and peer-support purpose
My HS Journey shares general educational information, personal experience and peer-support resources relating to hidradenitis suppurativa.
We are not a medical provider, clinic, counselling service, pharmacy or emergency service.
Website content is not:
-
A diagnosis.
-
Individual medical advice.
-
A treatment plan.
-
A prescription.
-
A substitute for an appointment with a qualified healthcare professional.
-
A guarantee that a product, diet, treatment or lifestyle change will be safe or effective for you.
Always obtain professional medical advice before starting, stopping or changing medication or treatment.
Seek urgent medical assistance where symptoms may require immediate attention.
3. Accuracy and updates
We aim to provide helpful and responsible information, but medicine and available evidence change over time.
We do not guarantee that all content is complete, current, error-free or suitable for every person. Personal experiences are individual and should not be treated as universal results.
Where possible, we may link to recognised health organisations, but external information remains the responsibility of its publisher.
4. Downloads and self-management resources
Trackers, journals, checklists and other resources are designed to support personal organisation and conversations with healthcare professionals.
They do not create a clinical record monitored by My HS Journey. We do not review completed trackers unless a separate arrangement expressly says otherwise.
You remain responsible for deciding what information to record, how to protect it and whether to share it with a healthcare professional.
5. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, website text, branding, layouts, original graphics, downloads and resources belong to us or are used with permission.
You may download free resources for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You must not, without written permission:

-
Remove branding or copyright notices.
-
Upload the files to another website or group.
-
Claim the work as your own.
-
Adapt the materials for commercial use.
-

6. User submissions
Where the website permits comments, form submissions, testimonials or other contributions, you must not submit:
-
Unlawful or defamatory content.
-
Threats, harassment or discriminatory material.
-
Another person’s health information without authority.
-
Copyrighted material you do not have permission to use.
-
Spam, scams or misleading promotions.

Submitting information privately does not give us permission to publish it publicly unless we obtain appropriate permission.
7. External links and services
The website may link to third-party services such as Wix, WhatsApp, NHS resources, charities, professional organisations and social-media platforms.
A link does not necessarily mean that we endorse every statement, product or service offered by that organisation.
We do not control independent websites or platforms and are not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices or security.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss arising solely from:
-
Treating general content or another member’s experience as individual medical advice.

Files, messages or material shared by other community members.
-
Temporary website interruption.

Unauthorised conduct by another user that we could not reasonably prevent.
-
These terms do not remove any legal duty we may owe and do not excuse negligent or unlawful conduct.
9. Availability and changes
We may amend, suspend or withdraw website content, downloads or features at any time.
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply from their stated effective date.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
