LIVING WITH HS
Living with HS isn't just about managing your skin. It's about learning how to navigate the good days, the difficult days and everything in between. There's no one-size-fits-all approach, but over time you'll start discovering what works best for your body.

Stress
Emotional pressure often manifests physically.
Friction
Tight clothing or repetitive movement.
Certain foods
Ingredient sensitivities vary by person.
Lack of sleep
Fatigue impacts how the body repairs itself.
Learning Your Triggers
One of the biggest lessons many people with HS learn is that everyone's triggers can be different.
Not everyone will experience the same triggers, which is why tracking your symptoms can be so valuable.
Hormonal changes
Natural cycles can influence flare-ups.
Heat & sweating
Temperature regulation is key for comfort.
Smoking
Smoking may worsen symptoms for some people
Looking After Your Mental Health
HS affects more than your skin. It can impact confidence, relationships, work, anxiety and self-esteem. If you're struggling, please remember that those feelings are valid. Talking to someone you trust, joining a supportive community or seeking professional support can make a real difference. You don't have to carry everything on your own.

Everyday Tips
There isn't a perfect routine, but some people find these small changes helpful:
- Wear loose, breathable clothing.
- Try to reduce friction where possible.
- Be gentle with your skin.
- Keep wounds clean and protected.
- Rest when your body needs it.
- Celebrate progress, even if it feels small.
Finding What Works For You
You'll probably come across lots of advice online. Some people swear by changing their diet, others find medication makes the biggest difference. Some notice improvements after reducing stress.
The truth is...
HS is incredibly individual.
What helps one person might not help another, and that's okay.
Learning your own patterns is often more valuable than following someone else's.
Building Your Support Network
One of the hardest parts of HS can be feeling like nobody understands what you're going through.
That's one of the reasons I created this website.
Whether it's through the WhatsApp community, my TikTok, future events or simply reading the resources here, I hope this becomes somewhere you feel supported.
Because no one should have to figure out HS alone.
